A of S web ring

The Archives of Stupidity have nothing to do with 'zany' American humor, but are rather a representation of how everything has gone stupidly wrong, viewed from a warped & cynical point of view.

You will find games sites on this web-ring, but the games themselves are far from normal. You will not find a normal site anywhere on the ring, even 'The Purchese Site', which at first seems normal, will under close examination be viewed for the disgusting perversion that it really is.

Membership to the web-ring is by approval only, this will mean that only the best sites that request membership will actually receive it, & that the number of sites will stay small, guaranteeing an easy way of attracting more visitors to your site.

The A of S web-ring was founded in August 1999 & its small size reflects this.

1. The Archives of Stupidity

This is the home site of the Ring; it has links & downloads but forgets the mundane way such things are discussed on other sites. Everything on this site is presented differently. It has become an ever-growing catalogue of how the world has gone wrong in a variety of stupid ways. Also including 'Clues for clueless people' a guide for the induhvidual who hasn't the time or brainpower to work things out for himself, featuring such indispensable essays such as '10 Give-away signs your next door neighbour is a serial killer'. You really will wonder how you were ever unhappy without them.

2. Klik2play

A disgusting catalogue of?? Klik & Play games. For those of you unfamiliar with the program, it presents a way for people with no programming experience to create small games that look like they were meant for the ZX Spectrum? no, wait, come back! This site is basically for when the £100's worth of games rotting on the shelf no longer cut it any more. There is also one major difference between this site & others like it; its games are actually rather good. It panders to no media sensibilities, no scanned in pictures of Mulder & Scully or the South Park Cast for Tim, oh no not he. Instead of trying to promote it's games through such things Klik2Play features pure unadulterated weirdness. The games feature tender subjects, such as the disposal of sheep into the sun. With ideas like this the author is going a long way? although in what direction, or toward which mental institute, I cannot tell.

3. The 'Purchese' Site

This worries me. It's not about anything, has very little content, & loves Macs. Includes such marvelous features such as 'The abused Button'. The author displays hideous pictures of his friends, provides an E-Card service for small children (all very sinister, apparently he has a sidekick & they 'warp young minds in stereo'). He is offering to set up a chat forum, a bit of a waste of time when less than 50 people have so far visited, even more of a waste of time when he says it's for Mac users only. This site is incredibly hypocritical, it raves about Macs when it is clearly designed & published using Microsoft software. The guy also says he's going to add a load of software, but look at what, FTP programs, & who really gives a sh*t about animated cursors? How about compulsory Euthanasia for writers of sad web sites? Sounds good to me.

"To be governed is to be watched over, inspected, spied on, directed, legislated, regimented, closed in, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled. All by creatures that have neither the right nor the virtue... To be governed means that at every move, operation, or transaction one is noted, registered, entered in a census, taxed, stamped, priced, assessed, patented, licensed, authorised, recommended, admonished, prevented, reformed, set right, corrected. Government means to be subject to tribute, trained, ransomed, exploited, monopolised, extorted, pressured, mystified, and robbed; all in the name of public utility and the general good. Then, at first sign of resistance or word of complaint, one is repressed, fined, despised, vexed, pursued, hustled, beaten up, garrotted, imprisoned, shot, machine gunned, judged, sentenced, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed, and to cap it all, ridiculed, mocked, outraged, and dishonoured. That is Government. That is its justice and morality"
